Introducing the art of Charlie Jefferson of Crewe, VA

charles-jefferson1My name is Charlie Jefferson IV and i’ve been artistic since I was about 4 years old. When I picked up my first crayon what I had put to paper was captivating. What I love about my art are the many different stories within each piece. I love how I’m able to see exactly what I feel. I started when I learned, being kind of shy growing up that I could express my feelings  by drawing them so they could be seen sometimes better than heard. The feelings that I feel when I do my art is one of extreme peace.

I’ve been an artist for a long time and it was once hard for me to part with my work because of how much of myself I put into it. Now I see my art as something I wish to share with every art admirer whom my art may touch. Hopefully my gift in art will become all that I  see it to be and that you will to.

HEART2HEART: Order vs. Chaos

Order vs. Chaos by Ed Conley

As a lifetime house cleaner and the enemy of clutter, I have some experience in this war. My wife is my partner and as she is on the side of Clutter as my “enemy” of order, she has taught me so much wisdom. This is a timeless war, Order vs Chaos, Good vs Evil or however you want to call it. But whichever side you fall on—and most fall heavily on one side or the other—recognize and love your opponent. As Jesus said, love your enemy. So……if your enemy is clutter but you can’t seem to win in this war against this insidious terror, it’s because the enemy is YOU. In all wars of order vs. chaos, the tide goes back and forth, and just when you think you have imposed order at last, and the fighting breaks out just where you’ve cleaned. It’s a civil war that can’t be won! Would that our President would read this!

So what’s the answer? Well, I advise that you recognize that you are both order and chaos. And that because you identify with one side, the other side (also being you) matches your efforts. It’s like both your hands wrestling each other.

If you take your stand in the middle between the warring armies of Order and Chaos, and there take the neutral position of a witness, you can then accept both sides as being a matched pair, twins fighting it out. So by accepting Order and accepting Chaos as being who you are, you can relax and enjoy each side. It becomes okay if there is a mess; it becomes okay if you can’t sweep back the tide of chaos; it becomes okay if someone messes up you just cleaned space. You see, when you take position in the Middle Way, no matter what you do, clean up or if others mess up, you are okay.

The point is that you can still clean up, and you can still mess up, and it’s okay which ever side you are playing with. This take the SCREAM out of housework. it becomes more like playing with sand castles at the beach. It’s okay if the wave comes in and washes away your work. Fighting the ocean never works.

Hello it have been quite a while since I been here, been a little busy. I am quite sure that all of  us  sometime try to do to many things at once. Most of the time  not doing a good job at either.I hope I do not  bore you  but here we go.
First I would like to think the people who came out to the Art Work Shop that Charles Hartwell and I gave at the Blackstone Art And Craft Show. I myself enjoyed working with everyone who attend the Work Shop I will be taking  a little on some of my newer workfirst painting is Amelia Country School  1911 . This was taken from a old photo  I saw. It is painting of a old farm  wagon  changed to a  school bus. Auntie is gone this is a painting of a old lady who pass. Here family and so call freinds are busy looking for what the can find of value.I no a lot of will to agree that once  you  go on to a better place there  will be people who will truly miss you. Then on the other hand there will people looking for that pot of gold , if you no what I mean.Third painting is Apple For The Teacher painting of a group of kids going to school with gift for their teacher. Downtown Blackstone Va. ,lo ok for some of the old land marks in this painting. The next painting really bring  back a lot of memories to me. I was born in a old wooden frame house across from  Old Hammock Store. Many of 1 cent cooklies and candy I have eaten  from there .This store like all of the country stores was the place where all the latest new  was repeated. It was  also a bus stop for the local schools. The last  painting  is a group of men  waving at a bus carrying The Pittsburgh Crawford baseball team (Negro Leauge Team that played up to the late fities. well I hope you enjoyed this bit of writing . Till next time may God bless and keep you safe.

Hello everyone hope all is well. I hope you are enjoying there summer. I watched the Michael Jackson Memorial Service on CNN. It was really a nice memorial . The police did a good job of keeping it under controll. Out of all of the Singer Usher singing Gone To Soon was the most touching to me. Him walking down and touching Michael moved a lot of people.Cnn really coverd the Memorial Severice well. What ever he did bad of good on this earth he is not here with us. Well he will all way be here becaue his music. Like many more stars before him gone to soon because of drugs use.It really telling us a lot about the cause of frame as a star. Guess that where a good manger come in.Making sure the right people is around ,but it all come down to the star the person in charge. The list of people from superstars down to everyday people that we have lost to drugs is were sad. So many people GONE TO SOON. I hope you enjoy the painting of Michael Jackson I painted.

Hello Blackstone Va and freinds. We lost a one of the best entertainer (to me ) of all times, Michel Jackson .One of the first records I purchase was The Jackson Five the Love You Save . I grew up with Micheal Jackson and the Jackson Five.. He will be miss .I would be the first to say a lot of the things he did in his life was very ,very wrong and only God can judge him for what he have done. Micheal Jackson was surrounded by people his family also that knew he was a meal ticket..I think Micheal Jackson would still be alive today if people around him would have were more into him as a person. Not just for the paid check…..It very sad in life how money can silence the truth and sometime up hold wrong. When sometime all is needed is the word stop. I love the music of Micheal Jackson ,he change so much in the music world. REST IN PEACE Micheal Jacks on , only God can judge you now. You and your music will be miss. Music the only universal tongue….

Sun 10 2009 ) This event is hosted by Nottoway Antiques at Nottoway Courthouse Virginia. I am looking forward to the demonstrations Nottoway County like most of Virginia had part of the battle here. Athough the painting I am talking on was of the battle for High Bridge in Prince Edward County.High Bridge was important for Lee’s retreat.as well a supply line for both side North and South.

watghing-patterson-72-pxThe painting Watching Patterson is a painting of a Floyd Patterson figth in the late 50s as told to me by a freind. He told me how his family was the only family for miles around that own a T, V. After a hard day’s work people would vist them just to watch T. V, So many people would come that they would place the T. V. at a opening window so all could see. Not only the weekly fight but the new and local events. If the people that gather in my freind yard could only see today,s version of T.V.with over 200 stations, What in the word would they think .I guess a few of us can recall having onlly 3 station to watch. Each station was off the air by midnight.

The Sat and Fri. night fight was on every weekend along with The Mickey Mouse Show., Amercan Band,The John Daily Show The Lone Ranger and other weeky shows Our first T. V. was a used one with rabbitt ears .You had to move the ears all around to get a clear picture . The tuning and volume knob were small and had to be controlled by hand.(no remote)The picture was black and white and hard to see..We would race home from school to watch T. V.

grandpa-on-proch-72-pixGrandpa on the proch of a older man relaxing on his porch.Every house just about had a porch on it.The porch was like a additional room. It was a meeting place to greet freind and vistors. It was the wash room to clean laundry. Place to store firewood On the end of a hot day it was the gethering spot. Many tales was told on those old porches.and many pair of pant s torn on those old rusty nails..Those old porches a place to play on a rainy day and the family dog made home. I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. and all your love ones made it home safe. Until next week Blackstone and freinds take care of yourself and each other. May God bless each one of you
