rotaryBlackstone Rotary held its fourth annual Pick Up Our Pride intown Saturday, May 9, and for the first time it was joined by Downtown Blackstone Incorported, DBI. Mayor Billy Coleburn gave the crowd of pickers a send off and then he and his family joined in. Participants left the Seay Park armed with orange garbage bags, latex gloves and orange vests. A few more orange items and you might think that the inmate of Guantanimo were being housed here.

But it wasn’t all trash. A group of adults and childrenplanted and weeded downtown planters and around the park gazebo. A ROTC cadet won the raffle prize.
