ozena-kathy-and-williamHello Blackstone Virginia and freinds. This past weekend I travaled to Urbanna Virginia to attend Art on the Half Shell Festival. Artists from all along the east coast attend this festival. There is only art at this show no craft. In past years I have won best in show.I was not that lucky this year.It not always about wining , me as well as the 75 artists that did not win anything all agreed we should have won first place. ( Oh well next year) The Exhibiter are quite talented .
I took a lot of pictures this is such a lovely part of the Virginia ,enjoy. First picture is of boats in the bay in Urbanna . Next is a picture of me, Mrs Ozena Thurston and Mrs Kathy Vesley .Mrs Vesley who live a few blocks over from the festival site.Mrs Vesley really make me feel at home every year.
She have been one of my best supporter at Art on the Half Shell.Thank you Kathy for going out of the way to be nice<may God bless and keep you.The local people I spoke with said it had rained everyday of the week. The sunny day was a welcome sight,as well as the good turn out. The last picture was taken on our trip home which was had a lot of rain and wind storms. The sun came out about ten miles from home
The painting I am talking on is The Vistors are Here, a painting of a group of people going to play a baseball game .I never saw any of the great Negro Leauge team play, but there was few local Negro teams. Everybody tried to play. Most of the time play on weekends. The teams all build feilds to play on. I was to young to play ,but ran down foul ball ($ 5 cent for every ball returned)
