Contribute Your Stories
You can contribute stories and/or pictures to Blackstone Chronicles by email or on a Word or pdf attachment. If you have pictures and can’t get them into your computer, drop them by my studio at 606 South Main Street and I’ll scan them. Your stories will be cut and pasted from your email, so double check your spelling. However, I do pass everything through a spell check. Hand written stories need to be transcribed in Word and then emailed to me.
THE WAY IT WAS: If you have a memory of life in Blackstone to share, just write like you would tell the story, and let your feelings come through. The editor (that’s me) reserves the right to tweak the copy to make it catch the reader’s eye. These memories can be personal or what someone told you. Try to preserve the details and emotions of the memory.
You can also post Youtube videos by emailing the link along with your story. If you video is not on Youtube bring it by and I can put in on. Video may be posted on the home page if space allows, but it will always be posted with your story.
Your favorite Blackstone person: Every family has members or knows someone who was an inspiration to the family and left a positive imprint on Blackstone. Now you have a place where you can keep that powerful memory alive. When you write the story, stay grounded in your experience and how that person made you feel. Wrap your feeling around some experience with that person that sums up who they were. Your honest feelings will make that person and the meaning of their life come alive for readers.
TODAY IN BLACKSTONE: If you know someone with a positive story that should be in Blackstone Chronicles, call or email me with contact information and I’ll set up an interview with that person. Or you write your own story about someone doing positive things in today’s Blackstone. Include pictures.
BLOG: If you have a blog about your life in or around Blackstone, we can post it here. Also any websites of local businesses can be posted here also.
OPINION: Now you can be a weekly column writer or have an editorial opinion that is relevant to life in Blackstone. If you want to write a column then create a column title that just might make you famous, at least around here.
